Happy New Year to all! 01/20/2010
Hoping to make this new year a great success for Enlightened Canines! Rescue & Rehabilitation. This year has come to a rocky start for us, but we are keeping our heads high and trucking forward with a positive outlook. Wishing everyone a safe and healthy New Year! Foster Homes Needed! 12/29/2009
Enlightened Canines! Rescue & Rehabilitation is looking for future candidates that would be interested in fostering for our rescue! We will have a two week orientation for anyone interested. Foster homes help us rescue more dogs. We provide all the food and medical expenses, and will only take in dogs when we have available resources! Please contact me at EnlightenedCanines@yahoo.com for more details and also for an Ambassador application! Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving! 11/27/2009
Just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. Today is a day, we all gather around a great meal and give thanks for the things that bless our lives! Let's not forget our four legged friends who remind us to live in the moment and to stay balanced throughout the year. I give thanks to them for their patience with me, and forever loving me, no matter how dorky I am! :) Many blessings to you and your family! Angela Morin Whoa Baby... 11/18/2009
Okay, so I finally got my Save-A-Pet.com site up, and the phones started ringing off the hook for owner surrender dogs! I wish the phone would ring off the hook for adoptions! One owner said that unfortunately her daughter was having a baby and needed to get rid of their pit bull. How sad! I never knew that having a baby, meant giving up your companion. It's not the dog's fault she got knocked up. I know I sound rude, but it irritates me. How can they think a dog is that disposable? Well at least they tried to find a rescue first..right? I have started this blog in hopes to bore you with my thoughts and what nots! LOL! Okay, in all seriousness...I am really excited, because I am on the road to start an awesome rescue that incorporates Cesar's Way with our rescue dogs! I hope to get lots of people on the same page of using Cesar's methods, because they work! In all honesty, I am not here to sell his products, or make good with CMI team. I truely use his methods, because they completely fulfill any dog in rescue! To me the dogs are the most important, and who I ultimately want to make happy! I was walking through an adoption event, filled with rescues, shelters, breed clubs, dog training demos, etc., and you know the one thing I noticed with everyone? Everyone coddled their dogs and talked to them like they were human beings. These dogs were neurotic, anxiety and fear ridden and some even mildly dog aggressive, lots of them with severe food aggression. It didn't surprise me, but the sad thing is...these dogs are going to be adopted to some unsuspecting, unknowlegdeable person, wanting to adopt based on cuteness factor. I don't want to come across as arrogant or above anyone else, that is not my intention. I understand that lots of rescues/shelters didn't study dog psychology or go to school to become a trainer, but I have concerns because the best interest of the dog is not in hand here. SO...instead of telling everyone that what they are doing is wrong, let alone would take forever to explain...I decided to start Enlightened Canines! Rescue & Rehabilitation! I'm hoping to save many dogs and educate as many people as possible! Education is rescuing! I sure as heck wouldn't go out and buy some expensive piece of machinery and not read the manual. The same thing applies to dogs. Learn about dog psychology...learn how to communicate to your dog without any words...just energy and body language. You can do it! Are you asleep yet? Lol! Go buy a couple of Cesar's books and DVD's while you're at it too! Tell CMI Angela sent you! LOL! :) Have a wonderful evening! |
